[Electronic Times Article Sharing] Sophos and Pax8 Announce Strategic Partnership to Simplify Security Management
Sophos has announced a strategic partnership with Pax8, a cloud-based business marketplace. Through this collaboration, over 40,000 managed service providers on the Pax8 network will gain access to the most comprehensive portfolio of security solutions.

MSPs within the Pax8 network can now access security solutions from a single vendor, including Sophos Managed Detection and Response, Sophos Endpoint Protection powered by Intercept X, and Sophos Firewall, creating a one-stop security service.

This move will bring transformative advantages to channel partners, helping to simplify operations, consolidate billing processes, and significantly reduce the complexity of cross-customer security management.

According to the “Sophos MSP Perspectives 2024” report, MSPs that integrate security technologies into a single vendor can reduce daily security management time by nearly half, and this figure can increase to 69% if the MSP previously managed six or more security vendors. Through its partnership with Pax8, Sophos helps MSPs remove key operational hurdles, enabling them to seamlessly manage security through a single vendor platform, simplifying solution integration and improving operational efficiency, while strengthening overall security protection and streamlining cloud procurement processes.

Sophos CEO Joe Levy stated that Sophos and Pax8 share a highly aligned mission: to provide MSPs with end-to-end security services and products, while simplifying solution lifecycle management and reducing operational burden. MSPs seek partnerships with vendors they can easily collaborate with, and this agreement will further enhance the ease of collaboration between MSPs and Sophos, a commitment they have always upheld.

In the cybersecurity field, speed and innovation are crucial for effectively combating attackers. Through collaboration with Pax8, MSPs can more quickly acquire critical cybersecurity tools, helping them provide stronger protection for their customers in an increasingly complex and volatile threat environment.

Pax8 CEO Scott Chasin stated that today’s MSPs need solutions that align with their operating models—cloud-first, resilient, and easy to manage at scale. Pax8 is revolutionizing how MSPs access and deploy cloud solutions, and cybersecurity is an indispensable and vital component of this.

“By bringing Sophos’ innovative security solutions to our Marketplace, Pax8 can provide partners with enterprise-grade security solutions, enabling their small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) customers to more easily manage security, reduce risk, and improve profitability.”

Raja Patel, Chief Product Officer at Sophos, stated that MSPs say integrating security management into a single platform can reduce daily management time by almost half, and Sophos is key to helping them achieve this goal. Through the cloud platform Sophos Central, MSPs can centrally manage the security of all their customers, reducing workload and freeing up more time for revenue generation.

Furthermore, Pax8 MSPs have direct access to the complete Sophos security solution portfolio, creating more sales opportunities, meeting customers’ evolving security needs, and increasing revenue.

Sophos’ solutions are supported by real-time threat intelligence from Sophos X-Ops, a global team of expert threat hunters and security analysts who effectively defend against cyberattacks through AI-driven proactive protection.

As a leading global provider of managed detection and response services, Sophos provides security protection for more than 28,000 enterprises. Sophos MDR intelligence further enhances the security of MSPs and their customers. Through automated threat detection, managed response, and deep security insights from the Sophos product portfolio, it helps MSPs improve their defenses, reduce risk exposure, provide enterprise-level protection, and reduce management complexity.

Over 60% of Sophos MDR customers are managed through MSPs, giving Sophos unique and deep insights into attack patterns in MSP managed environments. Sophos uses this intelligence to update customer defense mechanisms in real time, ensuring MSP customers can cope with evolving attacks and provide greater peace of mind for businesses and partners.

Furthermore, through Sophos’s robust Microsoft Environment MDR service, Pax8’s MSPs can significantly improve the security of customers using Microsoft Defender, allowing customers to get a higher return on their Microsoft investment.

Through Pax8’s Sophos MDR service, MSPs receive multifaceted support. They can choose to fully adopt Sophos’s managed services or use them to strengthen the defenses of their internal teams, including critical periods such as nighttime and weekends, when attackers are most likely to launch attacks, making enhanced defenses crucial.

In addition, for MSPs that provide in-house MDR services, Sophos XDR’s built-in AI Asssistant can leverage firsthand intelligence from Sophos MDR analysts to help security operations personnel at all skill levels identify and mitigate threats more quickly.
